Myrtle Norra Anthony's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Myrtle Norra Anthony announces her peaceful passing on August 13, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Myrtle was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 13, 1937 to Joseph Benjamin and Florence Laine Norra. Myrtle wed Edgar Anthony on September 4, 1954 and raised three sons with him. Myrtle was daughter-in-law to the late Ben and Mae Anthony. An avid indoor and outdoor person, Myrtle enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, cooking and being an animal lover. She also found great joy in spending time with her family. Myrtle was a native of St. Bernard Parish and resided in Bogalusa in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Myrtle was a house wife and took care of her husband, three sons and animals. Myrtle has a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and friends and loved going on vacation with family when her and her husband could find the time.
Myrtle is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Edgar Anthony; her three sons, Edward Joseph Anthony (Denise), Richard Benjamin Anthony and Kenneth Michael Anthony; and her sibling, Myra Norra Fedele (Mike Gerken).
Myrtle is predeceased by three siblings, Joseph A. Norra, Jules Raymond Norra and Ann Rose Junot.
Myrtle is lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, Angelle Anthony Trapani (Jonathan), Rachel Anthony Naquin, Krystle Anthony Schlesinger (Thomas), Nicole Anthony (Keith LaGrange), Chrissy Anthony Phillpott (Billy) and Kenneth Michael Anthony, Jr. Myrtle is further remembered by her ten great grandchildren, Seth Trapani, Austin Trapani, Brayden Trapani, Aliyah Naquin, Payton Naquin, Delilah LaGrange, Annabelle Phillpott, William Phillpott, Wyatt Phillpott and Abigail Phillpott. She is also survived by one great-great granddaughter, Hayes Champagne and a host of nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services.
Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Covington, LA. E. J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
