Muriel McClendon Gaulon's Obituary
Muriel McClendon Gaulon passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 in Covington, LA at the age of 96. Muriel was born in Concord, NC on February 2, 1925 to Benjamin Kelly McClendon and Euna Mae Tadlock.
Muriel is survived by her children, Elizabeth and Gail; she was the grandmother of Brandon, Matt and Lauren Barker, and William and Braxton Bailey; she is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Muriel is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Aristide Charles Gaulon, Jr., her son, Paul and her parents.
Muriel was a member of First Baptist Church, Covington, LA where she was a member of the bell choir. She volunteered at East Jefferson Hospital, St. Tammany Parish Hospital and read to the children at Lyon Elementary School. Aristide and Muriel were also involved with the local VFW and American Legion.
Muriel was generous, kind and soft spoken. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington, LA.
