Morris Ates' Obituary
Morris Vernon Ates of Covington died on Tuesday, October 10, 2006.
He was born July 18, 1926 to the late Manin and Zora Mangum Ates and was the beloved husband of Ruth Thompson Ates for 40 years. He is survived by a daughter Charlotte LeBlanc; a son-in-law Chet LeBlanc; two grandchildren: Michele Baylor (Brent) and Michael LeBlanc (Shannon) and four great-grandchildren: Gabrielle and Ashton Baylor, Adam and Ally LeBlanc. He is the brother of Eudean and James Ates and Vermel Mangum. Mr.
Ates was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Navy; he retired from Swift Food Services and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
Graveside Services will be held at the Sharon Cemetery in Magee, MS on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 10:30 AM.
