Miriam Lucille Graybill Cooper's Obituary
Miriam Lucille Graybill Cooper, age 88 of Covington, LA died on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Avanti Senior Living in Covington.
Born, September 20, 1933 in Troutville, VA, to Irvin Dennis Graybill and Nora Estelle Creasy.
Survived by her Sons - Anthony Steven Cooper, Clifton Graybill Cooper (Muffet) and Christopher Eugene Cooper (Barbara)
Survived by her Grandchildren – Bethany Lawren Mader (Cory), Samantha Allison Cooper, Alexander Michael Cooper (Heather), Rachel Erin Cooper, 4 Great Grandchildren - Leeland, Colton, Evander and Amy, also survived by her Brother Paul Coffman Graybill.
She was predeceased by her Husband - Lawrence Eugene Cooper, Father - Irvin Dennis Graybill, Mother - Nora Estelle Creasy and 11 Siblings.
Lucille was a graduate of Newcomb College and received her Master of Social Work Degree from Tulane University. She was employed as a Board Certified Social Worker for 20 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans, LA.
She had a competitive spirit and enjoyed playing tennis at a high level most of her life at various clubs. One of her noted feats was at 79 years old she played at the Southern Senior Cup in Huntsville AL representing the state of Louisiana in the 75 years and up competition and won all of her matches.
Lucille was a devoted wife and mother who always showed her family unconditional love. She also spent her life in service to her Lord as a devoted Christian in a wide range of Ministries. She was deeply loved by family and friends and will be missed significantly.
Services will be held at a later date in Troutville, VA, at the Church of the Brethren and on Graybill property.
