Miriam Catherine Appel Schmidt's Obituary
Miriam Catherine Appel Schmidt was received into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Veronica Appel and her beloved husband of 40 years, the late Christian Peter Schmidt.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Terye Thompson and Chris Sellers; their husbands, Lynn Thompson and Chuck Sellers; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Lynn Thompson and Christy Ann Sellers; her great-grandson, Ty Lynn Rivera; her nieces, nephews and countless other relatives and friends.
Miriam graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels in 1938. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Mandeville for the past 11 years. She resided at Rouquette Lodge where she made many friends and spent many hours volunteering. She was very devoted to her family and her Catholic faith.
Relatives, friends of the family and her friends at Rouquette Lodge are invited to join in the celebration of her life at a Funeral Mass on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA with visitation at church on Friday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations “in memory of Miriam Schmidt” to Options Horticulture Program, 19362 West Shelton Road, Hammond, LA 70401.
