Milton "Deke" Raymond Malik's Obituary
Milton “Deke” Raymond Malik of Madisonville, LA passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020. He was born on October 24, 1940 in Schaghticoke, NY to the late Stanley and Frances (Coonradt) Malik.
Deke is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Anne (Torres) Malik; his children Mary M. Aguilar (Frank), Patty M. DeRoche (Craig), Steven J. Malik (Becky); his grandchildren Michelle Aguilar Vandergriff, Nicholas Aguilar, Mark DeRoche, Barton Ewing, Maggie Ewing, Hailey Malik, Harrison Malik, and Anne Bradley Ewing; and one great-grandchild Easton Vandergriff. He is also survived by his siblings Robert Malik, Diane Fanelli, and Nancy Wilson.
Milton grew up in upstate New York and graduated from Lansingburg High School. After graduation, Deke proudly served in the United States Navy. While serving in the Navy, he met and married Anne Torres. They lived in Louisiana and New York and raised three children. After his time in the service, he attended and graduated from Delgado Community College. Deke and Anne are active members of St. Anselm Catholic Church. Deke and Anne loved to travel, and enjoyed many trips in their retirement.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM.
