Condolences to Aunt Mildred’s family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. Aunt Mildred was a big part of my childhood. I remember her as being so much fun and she was so pretty. I was lucky to visit her in Metairie with my grandmother when I was a child. We rode the train down and stayed a few days. Again, I remember having so much fun with her. I came to New Orleans to see the Tut exhibit on a cold, wet day. The three of us who made the trip were cold, wet, and miserable and after standing in line for hours didn’t get in to the exhibit. We called Aunt Mildred and stopped by to see her, to warm up, and get dry. She made us hot chocolate and snacks and we had a long visit. She was such a sweet person.
