Mildred Souder Manchester's Obituary
Mildred Manchester went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Born in Greensburg, LA on July 18, 1935 to the late William D. and Mildred Sessions Souder, she was a retired Teacher’s Aide at the SSD1 School at Greenwell Springs Hospital in Baton Rouge.
The beloved wife of T.J. Manchester for almost 55 years, she is survived by three daughters: Judy Manchester Wilson, Lora Manchester and Cathy M. DiMaggio (Sal); one son, Jeff Manchester (Sharon); one sister, Estelle S. Wicker of Clinton, LA; one brother, Walter Souder (Janie) of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Maudie Carey; her special friend, Elaine DiMaggio; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William, Jr. and Thomas Sessions Souder.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Folsom, 13320 Broadway St., Folsom, LA 70437 conducted by Rev. Ed Jenkins, Rev. Randy Burdeaux and Rev. Mike Mann. Her grandsons will act as pallbearers.
A wake is scheduled for Tuesday May 6, 2008 from 6-9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433, with visitation beginning AT THE CHURCH Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow services at the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeshore Hospice.
