I'm so sorry to read about your Mom's passing. She was such a warm, loving and kind person. She was also very funny, great sense of humor. If we had more people like her, the world would be a lovely place.
Millie definitely lived life to the fullest. We are blessed to have known her and send our love and prayers to the entire Buchert family. May her memories remain with you all forever as well as with us
Love to all, The Davenport Family
So, so ,sorry for your loss. Many hugs and prayers for your family now.
I met Millie and Cy while teaching their grandson Justin at Lee Road School in 1989. What a wonderful trip it has been since then. I am forever grateful to the whole Buchert family for their acceptance of this somewhat crazy teacher as an extra family member.
I had the joy of often sharing Holy Mass with Millie and Cy at Our Lady of Peace Chapel on the campus of St. Paul's School. What a delightful way to spend Sunday mornings! Millie's faith, like my mother's, was contagious. And yes, I have several articles from Blessed Father Seelos. I had a great collection of Fava Beans from various St. Joseph Altars in the area.
One year, the track coach at St. Paul's tapped Justin's strength for throwing the javelin. He mentioned that he'd never held a javelin, much less thrown one! I immediately reminded him of his very personal coach: his grandmother!
I will miss Millie terribly, but my heart is light and full of joy for her. She is with her beloved Cy and precious son Donnie. I feel confident that she is already organizing athletic teams in heaven!
Go to your Eternal rest, revel in your love for Jesus and his Mother, and keep on encouraging the powers that be to cannonize Father Seelos.
My precious Millie,
May The Lord bless you and keep you;
may the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you
and grant you eternal peace.
