I was his secretary during the late 80's and early 90's. He was a wonderful lawyer and a better person. I was left alone to take of the office during his trip to Croatia to find his relatives who lived there. He toured on his bike! When he got back he told me many stories of finding them.
Mr Balen - a definitive member of the greatest generation, a true citizen and sportsman. We shared a love for motorcycles and racing since the '70s. My condolences to his family.
