Miguel Romo Jr.'s Obituary
Miguel Romo Jr. “Boss” at the age of 38, entered eternal rest peacefully on Thursday morning November 24, 2022, at his home. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 5, 1984, to Miguel Alcantar Romo Sr. and Rosario Gaitan Romo.
He is survived by his dad Miguel Alcantar Romo Sr., and his loving sister Lydia Romo Catoire, his caring brother-in-law Eric Joseph Catoire and his beloved dog Tank Tank. Miguel was the proud godfather and uncle to Deanna Maria Catoire. He was a proud uncle to Erica Jean Catoire, Rosie Cheyenne Catoire (whom he called Miss Rose) and Destiny Paige Catoire, and great-uncle to Kynslee Christina Normand and Kaysen Layne Rodrigue. He is also survived by his uncles, Victor Gaitan Jr., Dowdy Gaitan, Jesus Romo, Rafa Romo (Linda), Jose Romo (Sandra) and Beto, and his adoring aunts, Queenie Pequeno, Dolores Ezell (Bruce), Nona Moore (Mark), Maria Gaitan, Lupe Romo Alcantar (Fidel), Maria Romo (Lacho) and Gloria Chavez Corona (Hugo).
Miguel will be dearly missed by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Miguel was preceded in death by his loving mother Rosario Gaitan Romo; grandfathers, Miguel Romo Alcantar and Victor Gaitan Sr.; grandmothers Maria del Refugio Alcantar Ortega and Diana Gaitan; his uncles, Raymond Gaitan, Peter Gaitan and Ronnie Pequeno; and his aunts, Josefina R. Romo, Rosa Linda Gaitan. and Lydia Romo Alcantar.
A native of New Orleans, and proud resident of Mandeville for over 33 years, Miguel began his professional career as a bricklayer at the age of 15. He was successful and well respected in the masonry industry.
Miguel was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time outdoors from working on vehicles, cleaning the yard, riding the four-wheeler and even operating heavy equipment. He was a perfectionist in all he did. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. Miguel was unique and irreplaceable and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoirs of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 3:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will take place privately at a later time.
