He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosario Gaitan Romo; his son, Miguel Romo, Jr.; his parents María del Refugio Alcantar Ortega Romo and Miguel Romo Chávez; and sisters Lydia Romo Alcantar and Gloria Romo Alcantar
Starting his life in Chihuahua, Mexico then journeyed to the United States of America in 1976. In Louisiana, he met his late wife Rosario Gaitan Romo and had two children, Lydia Romo and Miguel Romo Jr. He worked as a Mason for over 40 years, always staying busy, supporting his family in every aspect he could, and being as stubborn as a mule. His biggest accomplishments are his family and having land, a vehicle, and a house he could call his own. He loved his kids and grandchildren more than anything, and they never went without thanks to him. He spent his whole life working, working, and working. It's all he wanted to do, all he wanted to do to make sure everything was taken care of. He was very prideful, and never soft-spoken, he would say what was on his mind no matter who didn't like it, and in the end, everyone respected that about him. No one could be more one of a kind than Miguel Romo Alcantar.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Romo may be made to Lydia Romo.
