Michelle Merritt Gallien's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Michelle Merritt Gallien announces her untimely passing on September 15, 2022. She was born in Monroe, LA on June 27, 1969. She is preceded in death by her father, Matthew Walker. Michelle leaves behind her son, Gabe; her daughter, Chloe; her mother and stepfather, Linda and Craig Pottenger; her brother, Matt; her aunt, Terri Pinckard; her friend and father to her children, Gary, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Michelle had a fierce personality. She was a strong-willed individual with a service heart and would jump into any situation and take charge. Her hobbies included riding horses, playing tennis and exercising. Michelle was a very social person. Her smile could light up the darkest room and she made you feel at home and safe with her.
Michelle graduated from Louisiana Tech as a registered nurse and worked in Florida at a local hospital in different departments. In 2011, Michelle moved to Mandeville, LA. While working at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, she went back to school to receive her Master’s degree and Nurse Practitioner License this year. Throughout her entire career, Michelle was a highly influential and respected member of the health field and tirelessly worked and cared for people.
A visitation from noon until service time at 1:00 pm will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home. Words of Remembrance will be at 1:00 pm. A private interment will be at a later date.
