Michael Terrell Stewart's Obituary
Michael Terrell Stewart, at the age of 76, entered eternal rest peacefully on Friday morning, September 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, on March 6, 1947, to Nick Horace Stewart and Thelma Maples Stewart.
He is survived by his wife Linda Kountz Stewart of almost 55 years, his adoring children Michael Stewart (Tiffany) and Lori Marcus (Steven). Michael, affectionately known as Big Mike to his friends and family, was the proud grandfather of Julia Marcus, Mackenzie Stewart, Patrick Marcus, and Megan Marcus. Mike was a caring sibling of, and survived by, Joanne Johnson, Linda Johnson, and Ray Stewart. Mike will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Mike was preceded in death by parents Nick and Thelma Stewart and his brothers Joe Stewart and Gene Stewart and his sister Dot Dykes.
A native of Mobile, and proud resident of Louisiana for over 42 years, Mike graduated from Murphy High School, in Mobile, AL. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on August 10, 1972. Mike was the proud and successful owner of Delta Drywall.
Mike was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time boating, hunting, traveling, and pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. Mike was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked by everyone he met, and he will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will take place privately at a later time.
