I worked with Mike for several years, long enough that I helped him break his ankle while we were moving a large heavy steel plate in a shop rebuild, if he was mad at me for that he never let me know it. Mike will be missed by many of us.

Paula and family my deepest sympathy on the passing of my good friend Mike. His Obituary says it all. That is how I know Mike. I got to have the privilege of meeting Mike in 1990 where we worked together at I/N Tek for 23 years and if Mike couldn't solve the problem (which 99% of the time he could) it was hard to find anyone that could solve it. Mike always enjoyed a good card game, poker, Texas holdem or pinochle. Mike and I belonged to the same parish in LaPorte St. Peters Catholic church. He was involved there with many things including meals on wheels and assisting the elderly in whatever way he could.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with and around Mike for from 1981 till he retired. I wish I could have learned all he had to teach me. When we worked nights together at Inland, we all took turns cooking. Some of the most memorable meals I've ever had were when Mike cooked. He would watch Justin Wilson's "Cajun Cook" program in the morning and reproduce that meal for us at work. It is my great privilege to have known him. May God comfort you in his absence.

My condolences to all of his family. Mike was one of the first people I met when I started at Inland Steel. We worked together as electricians for over 20 years. I often think of all the great times we had golfing and just hanging out. Someone I will never forget. Bernie Gerlach.
