Mike was an extraordinary man. Incredibly intelligent, courageous, caring and selfless. He knew everything about everything. You could talk to him not just about science but also about life in general. He was always able to put things into proper perspective and gave incredibly wise advice.
He shared 50 years of marriage to his loving wife Jeannette, sharing a gold standard of love that most people never achieve. Their two sons, Mike and John, feel incredibly lucky to have had them as their parents.
He loved and was loved dearly by his brothers and sisters and adored his five grandchildren.
Kind, caring and selfless, he would help anyone that came to him, always putting himself last. Oldest of his brothers and sisters, he was turned to often for help and advice. He was everyone's rock and will be sorely missed.
