Michael "Mickey" Arlen Bryan's Obituary
Michael “Mickey” Arlen Bryan passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024 at the age of 83. Mickey was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on June 8, 1940 to John Frances Bryan and Dorothy Louise Baker Bryan. Mickey is survived by his wife, Betty Brand Bryan, and his daughters, Teri Seal and husband Matthew Seal, and Traci McMillan and husband Scott McMillan. He was a loving grandfather to three grandsons Knox, Hunt and Cole McMillan. He was preceded in death by his father, John Bryan and his mother, Dorothy Baker Bryan.
A native of Bogalusa and proud resident of Covington, Louisiana for over 50 years, Mickey graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1958.
After high school he attended Louisiana State University and began his professional career as a State Trooper with the Louisiana State Police in 1965. Mickey retired as Captain and Commander of the Criminal Intelligence Division of the Louisiana State Police in 1985.
Mickey was passionate about his career in law enforcement and most importantly he loved the outdoors. He was an excellent marksman, hunter and fisherman. He traveled the world enjoying his love for hunting with his extended police family. Mickey authored "Memories of An Old Sheepdog" dedicated to his children and grandchildren.
Mickey was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Captain Michael A. Bryan was the epitome of the sheepdog.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at The Chapel of First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
