Michael “Mike” Peter Brooks passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, in Mandeville, LA, at the age of 80. He was born on April 11, 1939, in San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Brooks, Mary Catherine Read Obituary
Mike and I met at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant in Oceanside, Ca. in 1975. He was a mentor and a good friend. We both eventually were assigned to the River Bend Nuclear Plant in the early 1980's. After retiring from Entergy I lost track of Mike.Marsha and I will always remember the good times we shared..

I remember when we (the Tearnen kids) were little, we went to Coronado for the 4th of July and Mike convinced Rene (his sister) to go through a hamburger drive through in reverse. I don't think I ever laughed so hard in my life. He had such a quick wit, with his wonderful puns; a brilliant mind, loving to discuss the world's events; and a loving heart, raising his boys and combining families. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to all the Brooks family.
