Meredith Wingfield Berry Jr.'s Obituary
Meredith Wingfield Berry, Jr., born in Miami, Fl, on August 17, 1943, passed away on January 28, 2022, in Covington, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Meredith Wingfield Berry and Emma Dell Pecot Berry.
Meredith lived most of his life in Covington, graduating from Covington High School in 1961. He participated in football, basketball, and track. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1968.
Meredith is survived by his wife of 57 years (58 on February 8), Constance Vessier Berry; his 5 children, Jennifer Garner (Robert), Allison Mathias (Trevor), Caroline Mendheim (Blake), Meredith Berry III (Courtney), and Hillary Boudreaux (Danny); 12 grandchildren, Zachary, Avery, Ivy, Holly, Lily, Connor, Grace, Anna, Camille, Walker, Porter, and Meredith IV; 2 step grandchildren, Nicole Garner Bond (Jewel) and Kaelee McLain; and 1 step great grandchild, Judah. He is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Ross Watters, Don J. Ross and Wilfred Berry.
Meredith was in banking, real estate and sales. He played golf and tennis and gave lessons in both sports. His greatest passion was music. He played the trumpet in high school and played in the Northlake Community Band in Hammond. In 2020, he founded the Covington Concert Band and was the Executive Director.
