I just found out about the passing of Melanie. I am soooooo deeply saddened to hear this. I so wanted to go and visit her, but it was just too hard being that my Mom is on the same path. Alzheimer's is an awful, cruel disease. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sullivan, and Taylor family.
I first met Melanie when she was at Weber when Barbara Capdeville introduced her as her Broker. Even a quick introduction to Melanie left a lasting memory with her jovial personality, knowledge, wit, smile, and laugh. At the encouragement of Barbara Capdeville, I became a licensed Realtor in 1995, and went to work with Barbara. In 1999, Barbara Capdeville merged her business with this little Company that I new mainly for their Commercial division called Stirling Properties. To my surprise, there was a Residential where our new Broker would be Melanie. I was excited, as I already knew our new broker. Unfortunately I had been in a car wreck and spent years having surgeries and recoveries. When I was ready to come back, I came in with a new Broker license. Melanie welcomed me with open arms. She introduced me to all her hand picked agents. It wasn't like a workplace, it was more like a family with Melanie as the head. Melanie was a Real Estate encyclopedia, our boss, our friend. She encouraged all of us, stood by all of us, ate with us, drank with us (our final Fridays were the greatest), had parties with us (no other companies had parties like our Christmas parties), and most of all led us to be the best we could be. Melanie was the glue that kept us all together building friendships that last forever, where I met one of my dearest best friends, Terrie Hughes. Yes, Melanie even had me winning awards. I will always love her, always cherish the memories, and always be thankful to Johnny for sharing such an awesome lady with all of us.
