Maurice Pesnell Cambre's Obituary
Maurice Pesnell Cambre, age 77, of Mandeville, LA, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026. She was born on November 18, 1948, in Smackover, AR.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Mercer Selman; grandchildren, Riley and Daxton Selman. She is also survived by her siblings, Monica Helm, Diane Smith, Michael Sowvlen and John Walker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Perry Cambre; her son, John Scott Mercer; her parents, Robert Pesnell and Shirley Pesnell.
Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and filled her life with love and purpose. She was an avid reader who found joy in books and escaping into a good story. She loved to travel, especially trips to the beach where she could soak up the sun and maintain that glowing tan. Together with her late husband, she loved to garden. Her warmth and humor will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Cambre may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Friday, January 9, 2026, at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. followed by a graveside service in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
