Mary Claire Wolfe's Obituary
Mary Claire Wolfe, at the age of 86, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026. She was born on January 5, 1940, in Houma, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Peter H. Wolfe Sr.; her children, Jamie Luber, Peter Wolfe Jr. (Patti Floyd), Beth Wolfe Harbison, and Alison Wolfe (Paul Adams); grandchildren, George P. Luber, Kira Alexandra Luce (Ashley Luce), Jerica Arnette Burns (Jacob), Avery Peter Harbison, and Egan Jay Harbison; and great-grandchildren, Baker Jay Burns, Magnolia Claire Burns, and Riley John Luce. She is also survived by her siblings, Donna Cooper and Michael Koepp (Beverly); nieces and nephews, and wonderful lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite “Kitty” Eschete and Roy Koepp Sr.; and her brother, Roy J. Koepp Jr.
Mary Claire graduated from Covington High School in 1958 and managed the jewelry and gift department at Wolfe’s Pharmacy. She was a member of the Terrebonne Garden Club, and a charter member of the Terrebonne Orchid Society. Mary Claire’s greatest joy was found in God’s creation birdwatching and gardening. She had a remarkable gift of growing orchids, earning 13 (AOS) American Orchid Society Awards in recognition of her dedication, knowledge, and exceptional skill. Her orchids were more than beautiful flowers – they were a reflection of patience, care, and love she poured into everything she did. Her legacy of orchids will live on through her daughters and sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433, on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 11:30 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Theodore Dendinger Cemetery in Madisonville, LA.
