I was so fortunate to live next door to two amazing people, Mr. And Mrs Windom. They were the kindest most loving people I knew and they taught me so much about family and community. My parents divorced when I was very young and I always admired the wholesome family values of the Windoms. Their acceptance and kindness to our family was greatly appreciated and I do not think that they were ever aware of how much they impacted my young life.
I remember Mr Windom’s extraordinary vegetable garden behind his home and how generous they both were with its bounty. It taught me a life long love and appreciation for horticulture.
Mr and Mrs Windom and their children were also excellent role models to my siblings and myself, and I thank God for their influence on my life. They were truly the best neighbors in the world, and part of our family.
To say Mrs Mary was a kind and Christian woman is an understatement. She was steadfast, independent, and proud. She had a air of self reliance of a great past generation that I greatly admire. I have long moved on, but still harbor beautiful, loving memories of the Windoms from my childhood. My deepest condolences to her family. You have been so blessed to have Mrs Mary and Mr Bill in your life.
