Marysue was one of my dearest friends. We were "sisters" in high school and beyond. She was so much fun, always happy, generous, and loved people, having many friends. She had a love for cats, and her dear husband, Michel, was allergic, but put up with her pet cats because he adored her. I have so many wonderful memories of us, for example, riding the streetcar, laughing so hard we passed our exit stop. Another memory was "borrowing" her brother, Bobby's car, which was a "stick shift", and bucking to Cafe Du'Monde because we had no idea how to shift the gears. She has a wonderful family, close to one another, which is another of her special talents, as they are in other states, but want to be with each other. I lost contact when I moved from New Orleans. But, she will always be a special part of my life. It will be difficult for her family and her many friends as we will miss her. She was joy personified. - "Rebecca" Sue Kerlin

I have many happy memories of growing up in the same household with Mary Sue, my parents, a twin brother and an older brother. After having three sons, my Dad used to say that he would not stop having children until he had a little girl. That happy day arrived on December 17,1940 when Mary Sue was born. We had many wonderful times together growing up including family dinners every evening when we would talk about what we had been doing that day. Although we were all close growing up, we became even closer as we got older.

One of my finest accomplishments in life was arranging a blind date with Mike and Mary Sue. It was love at first sight and the rest is history. Mike and Mary Sue were married 63 years and had a loving family of three children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Unfortunately, knee surgery will prevent me from traveling to Covington for Mary Sue's memorial service. Of course, I will definitely be there in spirit.

With much love,

So sorry to hear of Mary Sue’s passing. My grandmother, Mrs Clesi and my parents, Stella and Jeff Jeffreys, lived next door. Sue would always keep and eye out on the house when my parents were out of town and when my mother began to get Dementia, she would go visit without my dad’s knowledge. Sue would keep mom at her house and call dad so he could come to get her. Sue was one of the most kind and gracious people I have ever known. Me prayers and condolences for all of you! Sincerely, Cheryl Kreller
