Mary Frances Kurka's Obituary
Mary Frances Kurka, loving wife and mother passed from this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Mary was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. It was there she met and married her husband and life partner of 53 years, James “Jim” Kurka. Together they made a life full of love and adventure, driving to Alaska in the late 1960’s to raise their young and growing family. During their years in Alaska, Jim and Mary ran a family farm and lived in a log cabin. Mary raised purebred Nubian dairy goats as well as seven children.
In later years, their life adventure took them to Washington, Wyoming, and Africa before moving to Poplarville, MS in 1997. There Mary and Jim had a pecan orchard and raised Katahdin Sheep. Mary was an active member in St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. Mary was an amazing cook and ever thoughtful of others.
She will be forever in the loving memory of her spouse and her children, Teresa, Marilyn, Mark, Mike, Ann, Carrie and Chris. May God find her a beautiful home in His Kingdom. She will be loved, cherished and missed always.
