Mary Jane Wurzbacher Jung's Obituary
Mary Jane Wurzbacher Jung, age 84, of Covington, LA died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Deacon John “Jack” Jung Jr., three sons, Marcus Jung of Elk City, KS; Matthew Jung of Lantana, TX; and Paul Jung of Califon NJ, and 8 grandchildren: Andrew, Annie, Joshua, Daniel, David, Nicole, Jacob, and Sarah.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Conrad Norman & Mary Ellen Wurzbacher; and her sister Eleanor Anne Truffer.
She graduated from Notre Dame University of Maryland receiving a degree in sociology. She worked for the Welfare department of Baltimore, Maryland and The Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She was previously a resident of Baton Rouge, LA; East Hanover, NJ; and Baltimore, MD. She was very active in volunteer work throughout her life including ministry with St. Vincent de Paul. She consistently served the needs of her parish community and beyond with love and joy.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Ministry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation at church on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
