Mary Peters Gilbert, on Sunday, April 30, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Kennis Witt Gilbert, Sr. Mother of Dr. Ronald Gilbert, R.V. “Pete” Gilbert and the late Kennis Witt Gilbert, Jr. Grandmother of Robby, Christopher and Kevin Gilbert and Edie Gilbert Nuccio. Great-grandmother of Robby Gilbert, Joey Nuccio, Kason Gilbert and Morgan Nuccio. Sister of H.M. “Mack” Peters and the late Dorothy Weed and Donald Peters. Aged 78 years, a native of Orlando, FL and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 41 years. A well known local artist in both china painting and water colors. A teacher of china painting, a member of the National League of American PEN Women, Inc., LA Association of Porcelain Artist, LA Porcelain Teachers and Artist Association, the St. Tammany Art Association, Tchefuncta Garden Club and the Town and Country Garden Club, former president of the Delta Zeta Sorority in college. She was a graduate of Florida State University with a B.A. in advertising. She was a substance abuse counselor at the Bowling Green Treatment Center. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Thursday, May 4, 2006, 11:00 AM at North Cross United Methodist Church, 311 Hwy 21, Madisonville, LA 70447. Visitation, AT THE CHURCH, on Thursday from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment in Theodore Dendinger Cemetery, Madisonville, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M.F.P.A.
