Straight out of college, newly married and arriving in Covington just days before the first day of school,my first teaching spot was at St. Peter School, where Mary and I had a connecting door between our classrooms. She was such an energetic teacher, generous with her help to a person brand new to the classroom, and just plain friendly. When I became pregnant my third year there, she engineered an impromptu one-package baby shower. The gift was ostensibly from the whole faculty, but the note was in her handwriting. She wrote that this gift would take care of most situations. Inside I found a cloth diaper, one diaper pin, and a baby bottle. My then three-member family moved away that spring. That was 47 years ago. Now that I have retired, younger staff members have told me how I helped them get a start. I was just doing what Mary did for me.
To Bill Ferrer Family: We are so sorry for your loss Bill. She was a joy to be around and you two made a great couple. Remember the good times and we will keep your family in our prayers. Don and Marguerite L. Morin
Dear Bill and family:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve Mary's death. "Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let light perpetual shine upon her." Please let us know if we can be of help to you. Just this past weekend we were reflecting on those cherished memories when we joined you and the MES staff in Lacombe at your camp. Mary is loved and will be missed by all of us. Jean and Louis Ogle

Mary was a great math teacher. I enjoyed teaching with her when I first moved to the north shore in 1978. God bless her and her family.
Bill,
Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
