Mary Lee Stogner Benn's Obituary
Mary Lee Stogner Benn was born on January 11, 1942 in Tylertown, Mississippi. Mary went to be with the Lord and Savior on December 14, 2025. She was living in Covington, Louisiana at the time of her death.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Hillary Stogner and Eunice Stogner, her husband Thomas Benn and her children Brenda Barber and Therion Barber.
Left to mourn her death are her grandchildren Melanie, T.J., Megan, Mandy, and Tracey along with numerous great-grandchildren. Mary was very close to her great-granddaughter Brianna Nicholson whom she raised.
It was often discussed how blessed we were that all six of Mom and Dad’s children had been blessed with good health as to not lose one in death.
Mary’s absence will be felt by her loving sisters Betty Schilling (the late Jim), Lynn Blossman (Dick), Nancy Laham (Milford), Helen Zimmerman (Gary) and her brother Herbert Stogner (Anna).
Mary grew up and attended school in Franklinton, Louisiana. Then she moved to New Orleans and worked at Hibernia Bank for many years. After retiring from banking, she and her husband moved back to Mississippi where she worked many years for the Housing Authority for the Choctaw Indian Reservation before retiring for the last time.
Mary loved to travel and enjoyed going on cruises. She and Tom loved to travel the country in their motor home.
All services were private.
