Mary Anne Mullen Helm "Meme" died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 80.
Beloved wife of 55 years to Wiltshire “Bill” Booker Helm, III. Loving mother of Kathryn Helm Federico (Mark), Kevin Andrew Helm, and Kelly Helm Chiasson (Mark). Daughter of the late Florence Marguerite Faessel Mullen and Gerard Patrick Mullen. Sister of Jean St. John, Gerard Mullen, and Catherine Moreau. Adoring grandmother of Morgan Ashley Chiasson, Lindsey Elise Chiasson, and Matthew Ryan Federico. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved aunt Madeline Malmstrom, who ironically passed on this same date, October 22, 1981.
Mary Anne Mullen Helm was born and raised in the Irish Channel of New Orleans. She spent most of her adult life in the Gretna area. Mary Anne has been a resident of Mandeville since 2002. She was employed by numerous federal agencies and retired in 1999. Her true love was raising her children as a homemaker for 22 years and spending time with her 3 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, October 26, 2018 with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM followed by a Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 AM.
Internment will follow immediately after in Westlawn Mausoleum, 1225 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA 70056.
