Mary Ann LeBlanc Psarellis' Obituary
Mary Ann LeBlanc Psarellis passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 in Slidell, LA after a lengthy illness. She was born in New Orleans, LA on September 9, 1955 to the late Mary Lachin LeBlanc and Joseph Wilfred LeBlanc, Jr. of New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sara and Victor Lachin, Sr., and Louise and J. Wilfred LeBlanc, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Elias Psarellis. She is also survived by her siblings, Dennis R. LeBlanc, Larry J. LeBlanc (Marguerite), Louise LeBlanc Newman and Therese “Terry” LeBlanc, as well as her brother-in-law, Steven E. Psarellis (Dawn). She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Aimee Golenor (Matthew), Sara LeBlanc, Rebecca S. Clary (Lucas), Andrew LeBlanc, Ryan LeBlanc (Kristi), John Shay III (Amy) and Tim Shay (Erin) and numerous grand-nephews and grand-nieces. She is also survived by cousins, Owen LeBlanc, Jr. (Anja), Remi Gomila, Donna G. Dicharry (Paul), Owen Shute, Irene Shute, Renee-Therese Dearborn, Nancy Lachin, Thomas Lachin (Catherine), Lindy Lachin Knudsen, Angela Lachin Shubert (John), Julie Lachin McCrory (Jeffrey), Victor Lachin, III, Laura Lachin Stepro (David), Jeanne Lachin, Warren Edward Mouledoux, Jr. (Elizabeth), Andre Mouledoux (Eleanor), Rene Mouledoux, John Mouledoux (Merilyn), Denise M. Gardner, Alyce M. McLamb (Robert), Guy Mouledoux (Kimberly), and numerous lifelong friends.
Mary Ann graduated from Ursuline Academy in New Orleans; she attended LSU and graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican College. After college, she was employed by D. H. Holmes as a clothing buyer for many years. After Holmes was purchased by Dillard’s, Mary Ann decided to continue her education at Tulane University, A. B. Freeman School of Business, by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She retired from the Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her lovely smile, her devotion to family and friends, her determination and optimism during difficult times. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1200 Allen Toussaint Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70122 on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM, with private viewing at 8:30 AM, and visitation at the Cathedral on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mrs. Psarellis to be made to either Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral or The National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2701 State Street, New Orleans, LA 70118.
