Martin Edward Johnson's Obituary
Martin Edward Johnson, age 78, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born in Brookhaven, MS on December 12, 1945.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Denise Morgan Johnson; his children, Renee Johnson Anselmo (Barry), Chadwick Hugh Johnson and Jared Johnson (Jessica); his grandchildren, Justin Anselmo (Marion), Hannah Anselmo Heine (Will), Joseph Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Makenzie Johnson, Drew Johnson and Reed Johnson. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dickey Wayne Johnson; his, parents Mamie Loretta Johnson and Nelson Hugh Johnson; and siblings, Mavis Hood and Nolan Johnson.
Martin was a loving husband, father and Paw Paw. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, canning, taking drives in “Little Red” and spending time with family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Picayune, MS, and former member of New Zion Baptist Church in Covington, LA.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their loving care, especially Jaren and Wendy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Bennett Cemetery.
