Martha "Tina" Bivona Grogan's Obituary
Martha "Tina" Grogan was born to strawberry farmers in Independence, Louisiana in 1927, the youngest of eight. She spent her younger years in Hammond. When she was 18 she moved to New Orleans, where she met the love of her life, James "Jim" Grogan, just after World War II. They married in 1947 and moved to Covington to raise their family of two daughters, Barbara and and Kathy. Tina spent most of her adult life in Covington. Some people may remember her from Hebert's Drug Store in downtown Covington. In her later years she became active in St. Peter Church and became and member of the Ladies Alter Society and traveled some with the Church group.
She loved to play cards and was a member of a few bouree and canasta groups in town.
For the last six years of her life she lived in Opelousas, where she attended an adult day care facility playing cards and bingo as she enjoyed doing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, and is survived by her children, Barbara and husband Glen and Kathy and her grandchild, Christina, one greatgrandchild, Brittnee and husband Brett, and four great-great granchildren, Anthony, Bethanee, Kali and Brett, Jr. and one on the way.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 16, 2018 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 10:00 AM to service time.
Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Covington, LA.
