While residing in Slidell, they welcomed their son, Joshua Michael, into the world.
All who were blessed to know Marsha knew that she was passionate about education and that she demanded the best from every student. She dedicated 31 years of her life as an educator at Pope John Paul II Catholic High School in Slidell, Louisiana. Marsha was the English Department chair for 28 years and also found great joy in teaching Civics classes while at PJP. Marsha was known for staying after school to give extra help to her students. In addition to her teaching duties at PJP, she was heavily involved in the Sanctity of Life club, the newspaper, the yearbook, and Showtime at the Warehouse.
Marsha is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Lawrence Bourgeois; her son, Joshua Michael (Jennifer) Bourgeois; her grandson, William Joshua Bourgeois; sisters Gail Whitesell and Beverly (Michael) Anderson; and brothers, Kenny and Gerald.
