Twenty years ago we opened the B&N in Metairie together. We climbed the ladder together and built our careers. Marne was always a good friend, a solid co-worker and a kind soul. The world is a little darker today. Miss you, dear.

Marne will be sadly missed. She was one of my first friends at BN when I started. Knowledgeable and so nice to make someone feel at ease. I saw her thru the years and she still continued to smile and be so nice. She lived a beautiful life with such a good heart. Sending prayers to all of you.

I had met Marne a few times at Barnes and Noble conferences, just passing in the hall or at the airports. After Katrina, I went into the Mandeville store and when Marne saw me she gave me the biggest hug. It caught me by surprise and brought tears to my eyes. I always remember that moment when I think of her. Thanks Marne!!
Marne had a dry wit, intelligence, upbeat, curious and a great friend. Met her several years ago at Barnes & Noble where she was manager. As I was looking for a mystery book, she ask if I had read Caleb Carr. We were great friends after that!

Marne and I shared many Cancer support stories...Mine was minor and hers was not. I always admired her courage and stamina to fight this battle. Now I am happy that she is a peace. Attached is a picture of something Marne gave me ...I will think of her every time I try to make a putt. God bless all of her friends and family. Such a wonderful person. So glad I got to know her and play golf with her. She will be greatly missed.
