Mark Andrew Maier's Obituary
Mark Andrew Maier, age 53, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to his family and friends. He was born on February 8, 1973, in Metairie, Louisiana.
Mark was the beloved son of George Maier (Margaret) and Betty Orechwa (David). He was a devoted brother to Joel Maier, Joshua Maier, and Matthew Maier (Laurin). He was also a proud and loving uncle to his nephews, Colton Maier and Cannon Maier, who brought him immense joy.
Mark was a 1991 graduate of Mandeville High School and a veteran of the United States Air National Guard. He worked as a communications specialist for Atlanta-Based Quality Recording Solutions (“QRS”) for 20 years. Mark had a deep passion for flying model airplanes and model helicopters. He was a highly technical guy who enjoyed understanding how things worked and could often be found fixing, building, or improving whatever was in front of him. He had a genuine love for animals and a natural ability to connect with them. He loved outings at the camp, where he enjoyed spending time and making lasting memories. In his free time, he also enjoyed playing pool, listening to music, and watching movies, often sharing these moments with family and friends. Mark also loved cheering on the New Orleans Saints and was a proud member of the Who Dat Nation.
Mark will be remembered for his steady presence and kind heart. His love for life, family, and the simple joys he cherished will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
