Mark Evers Hogan's Obituary
Mark Evers “Mickey” Hogan passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Dorothy Coleman Hogan; father to Judy Hogan Cantwell, Charlotte Hogan Miller and her husband Robert and John Daniel Hogan and his wife Daphne; grandfather to Nicole Marie Hogan, Ryan John Marchand and his wife Anne, Howard Marion Cantwell and his wife Vanessa, Jessica Danielle H. Montanez and her husband Eduardo, Daniel Mark Hogan, Katherine Michelle Hogan and Rachel Ann Hogan; great-grandfather to Garion, McKenzie Grace and Abigail Dorothy; brother to Eddie Hogan and Mary Jo H. Edmiston. His mother, Willie Pauline Rabb Hogan; father, Walter Van Hogan; and a brother, Addie Hogan, preceded him in death.
Age 89 years, he was a native of Waco, TX and had been a resident of Folsom, LA. He obtained a degree in Finance from Texas A&M University and further attended the University of Alabama. He was a United States Navy Veteran having attained the rank of Lieutenant and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He held employment at Alabama Drydocks and Shipbuilding and Harrison Brothers Shipyard both in Mobile, AL, Hunt Shipyards in New Orleans for 22 years and Hollywood Marine (Kirby Industries) in Houston, TX for 13 years. He was president of the Marine Club and the Mark Twain Club both of New Orleans, LA. After retirement he began his own consulting firm known as Gulf Marine Consulting. Mickey was a charter season ticket holder of New Orleans Saints Football.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 6:30 PM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Friday will begin at 5:30 PM and continue until service time.
Graveside services and interment will be on Saturday October 6, 2007 at 2:00 PM at M.A. Coleman Memorial Cemetery in Allen, AL.
