Mark A. Franklin's Obituary
Mark A. Franklin, age 67, of Covington, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was born on October 27, 1956, in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Coleman and Edna Mae Guilbault Franklin.
He is survived by his siblings, Margaret “MiMi” Franklin Arnoult (Charles), Catherine “Katie” Franklin Abboud (Chip), Thomas C. “Tom” Franklin, Jr. (Sue), Roberta “Bobbie” Franklin Foret (Gary), Maureen Franklin Larsen (Charles Conques), and Diane Franklin Dubroc (Lenny) and 14 nieces and nephews: Alan and Kevin Abboud, Olivia, Amy and Sarah Franklin, Jennifer, Jamie, Jacqueline and Jason Foret, Jessica and Daniel Larsen, Trey, Gabrielle and Michaela Dubroc, and many extended family members and friends.
Mark was the 5th child of seven of Edna and Coleman Franklin. As a child Mark lived in many places in the world before the family moved to Metairie, Louisiana. His father was career military, having served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. In 1964, the Colonel went to Vietnam and Mom and their 7 kids moved to Metairie from Ft. Hood, Texas. Mark attended St. Philip Neri, Archbishop Rummel High School, East Jefferson High School and graduated college from University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in Finance. Mark enjoyed his career in sales and sales management, with his last employer of 26 years Andritz Group, a provider of process technologies and equipment. He was a consummate professional and loved and respected by his co-workers. Mark, although a very private person, was very loving! His personal life revolved around his family, and his 14 nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly! He also loved playing golf, especially with his brother and friends and family. He will be missed by all and we are sure he will be enjoying many great rounds of golf with Mom and Dad. We are confident Jesus, Mom and Dad and all of the saints who went before him, welcomed him with open arms! It is my great honor to share this message.
Love you my brother, Tom
