Michelle Alford

Birth date: Apr 18, 1965 Death date: Jul 22, 2007
Sergeant First Class Mark Alan Alford, US Army, a member of the US Army for 24 years and a veteran of Desert Storm, died on Sunday, July 22, 2007. Beloved husband of Michelle Arcement Alford. Father of Ashley Alford and Andrew Al Read Obituary
Our condolences to Andrew and family. I didn't know Mark all that well, but he was always a pleasant and courteous neighbor in St. Bernard parish. He was kind enough to allow the boys to play together and not pass judgement on my son, realizing that he was a good kid despite his manner of dress and that clothes do not make the person. We're so very sorry to hear of your loss.
Mrs. Alford, I knew Mark growing up. He worked with my mom and dad at Pizza Inn in Franklinton. We had many fun times. He was always quick to make us laugh and make the time fly by while everyone was working. Many years after high school and college I ran into him at Lai Yuen in Covington where he was working. I hadn't seen Mark in several years, but it was like no time had passed at all. I'm glad I was able to see him so that I can have a nice memory of him forever.
I was so sorry to hear about Mark's passing. I live in the Baton Rouge area now, so I did not see obituary in the paper. My mom called today to let me know. I wish I could say something to make things better for you and your family. Please just know that Mark was a wonderful person and I know he was loved by many people.
I would like to relay my sympathy for the passing of SFC Alford. I only knew him as a professional. He always looked out for his applicants & the recuiters of the Slidell recruiting station. I only hope his family can weather this time in their life through faith in God.
God Bless SFC Alford & his family

May the Lord bless you and keep you all in this time of need
