Dear Family,
I wanted to express my deepest sympathy and share with you that death isn’t the end nor a path to heaven. Jesus demonstrated that when he resurrected Lazarus while he was on earth. John 11 shows when Jesus heard of Lazarus’ death, he said: "Lazarus has falling asleep and I’m going to awaken him". Notice that Jesus didn’t say: Lazarus went to heaven to be with God. Instead, he said “Lazarus has fallen asleep or has died and I am going to awaken him “. And to prove his point, Jesus asked to be taken to the grave where he was buried and when he got there, he called Lazarus, who came out from the grave like he was never dead. What Jesus did then flatly refutes the idea that the dead are in heaven and teaches us that he’ll bring the dead back to life when he rules the earth as King of God’s Heavenly Kingdom. (Daniel 7: 13 and 14); (Daniel 2:44) which is what he promises to do in John 5: 28. When that time comes, the following Scriptures highlight some of the things Jesus will do to benefit mankind. For comfort, please read them in your own Bible: (Isaiah 33:24); (Job 33:25); (Psalms 46: 9 and 10); (Isaiah 2: 4); (Psalms 37: 9-11 and 29); (Revelation 21: 3 and 4); (John 5: 28 and 29).
