Marion Henry Payne's Obituary
Lt. Marion Henry Payne, a retired State Trooper, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at the age of 84.
Husband of the late Linda Holden Payne. Father of Christine Payne-Lichtfuss (Don). Step-father of Jamie Mauthe and Bruce Butler III. Son of the late Eloise Beatty and Herbert Payne. Brother of John, Marshall, Billy, Mike, Phyllis and the late Herbert, Jr. and Ray. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Payne was a native of Amite and a resident of Folsom for the past 53 years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and the Merchant Marines. Marion was a lieutenant with the Louisiana State Troopers and retired after twenty years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, woodworker and gardener.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Thursday beginning at 9:00 AM.
Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
