Marilyn Rose Theresa Soniat's Obituary
Marilyn Rose Theresa Soniat, age 92 of Covington, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2024 with her niece, great nephew, and great-great nieces and great-great nephew by her side. She was born on October 12, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving sister Beverly Russell and adoring nieces and nephews, Cynthia Baker, Ricky and Katherine Russell, Kenny and Debbie Eckert, Nancy Russell, Bruce and Cheryl Burton, Brendon and Lisa Hayes, Mallery and Tammy Mele, Eric Eckert and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jules and Ida Setze, sisters Verna Eckert and Carol Ann Pigott and nephew Randy Russell. She received her degree in mechanical engineering. She loved her family, friends, and animals. Her passion was water coloring, and she received many awards. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed gardening, snow skiing, sailing, and traveling the world. Marilyn was a ray of sunshine to anyone she came in contact with. She loved deeply and was loved deeply.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana.
