Marilyn Margot Rome's Obituary
Marilyn Margot Rome entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2024 with family by her side. She was born in New Orleans, LA on July 14, 1943 and resided in Covington, LA for the last 30 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ronald J. Rome; her children, Gregory Joseph Rome, and Allison Rome Roux (husband, Andre Roux Sr); her grandchildren Natalie and Tyler Rome and Abby, Alex and Andre Roux Jr.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lucille Landry Margot and George J. Margot, and her brother, Melvin Margot.
Marilyn was a lifelong Catholic, a gentle soul who will be greatly missed. She graduated from Charity Nursing School in 1964. Her life’s work was one of service. She was a caregiver to many throughout her life. After her 40-year career in nursing, she retired and volunteered in various community service organizations.
She was a most loving wife, mother and grandmother as well as friend. She will be remembered as a prayer warrior by many.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Rome may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 72040 Maple Street, Abita Springs, LA 70420, 985-871-1563.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave, Covington, Louisiana on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Thursday beginning at 12:00 noon until service time. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Abby Cemetery, 75376 River Road, Saint Benedict, LA 70457.
