Marilyn Ferber Jung's Obituary
Marilyn Ferber Jung, age 69, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 7, 1955, in Mount Holly, New Jersey, grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and made the Northshore her home for the last 34 years.
She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Williamson, her nieces, Carrie, Erin, and Kathryn Williamson, and her extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Walter J. Jung, Jr and her parents, Edgar R. Ferber and Ina B. Hamilton Ferber.
After a successful legal career as an attorney for Exxon Mobil, Marilyn focused on her passion for both gardening and design, earning a bachelor’s degree in interior design from LSU. She also worked as a commercial property manager for many years during the latter part of her life.
Marilyn was a woman of unwavering Catholic faith, whose devotion shaped all aspects of her life. She served others selflessly, helping neighbors and friends, volunteering for over 18 years at Forest Manor Nursing Home, and living every day to “love and serve.”
Marilyn’s kindness, humility, and dedication to the wellbeing of others reflected the love of Christ, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Capital Campaign.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Monday, October 21, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation from 10:00 AM - 11 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
