Marilyn Rose Fauntleroy Bruhl's Obituary
Marilyn Rose Fauntleroy Bruhl, 86, a resident of Folsom, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 26, 2023, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 9, 1936, in Waldheim, Louisiana, to Howard Roy Fauntleroy and Rosa Cleland Fauntleroy. She graduated from Covington High School in 1954. In 1955, she married Jerry L. Bruhl and became a homemaker raising their children. Later, she worked alongside her husband on the family dairy located on the Bogue Falaya River. She was a longtime member of Red Bluff Baptist Church. She had a passion for caring for young children and served in the nursery and taught Sunday School for many years.
Affectionately known as “Aunt Marilyn”, she always welcomed her many nieces, nephews and friends of her children into her home, and she later welcomed her grandchildren and their friends. Some would stop by for a piece of pound cake and sweet tea, a delicious home cooked meal, or simply passed by on their way to the river.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jerry L. Bruhl, children, David L. Bruhl and Noelle Bruhl (George Sharp), special daughter, Sheila Fitzmorris Love (Kevin), grandchildren, Ryan Bruhl (Jennifer), Brianna Bruhl Mauthe (Daniel), Chase Sharp (Elyssa), and Jordyn Pritchard (Hayden), great-grandchildren, Jack and Jennie Claire Bruhl, Landry and Lawson Mauthe, Myles Pritchard, and Austin Fitzmorris, sisters-in-law, Penny Fauntleroy, Alice Fauntleroy, Lillie Willie (J.C.), and Nell Bruhl, brother-in-law, Rev. Warren Heck, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jimmy Fauntleroy, Leo Fauntleroy, and Cliff Fauntleroy, sister, June Fauntleroy Heck, brothers-in-law, Louis Bruhl (Yvonne) and Cliff Bruhl, and sister-in-law, Irma Bruhl.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Bruhl, Chase Sharp, Hayden Pritchard, Daniel Mauthe, Steve Heck, and Jason Bruhl.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Red Bluff Baptist Church Children’s Ministry Fund, 15204 Highway 1078, Folsom, Louisiana 70437.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Red Bluff Baptist Church, 15204 Highway 1078, Folsom, LA 70437 on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AA until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Bruhl Cemetery, Bruhl Cemetery Road, Folsom, LA.
