Marie A. Bergeron Schmidt's Obituary
‘Her heart knew the faith it took to go the distance and she now walks with Jesus hand in hand’
Marie A. Bergeron Schmidt returned to heaven after a courageous struggle with ALS on July 25, 2006.
She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Beloved wife of Charles E. Schmidt, Jr. and beloved mother of Emily S. Garcia, Claire S. Spano (Mark), Mary S. Owens (Ronald), Heidi S. Brown (Grant), and Patricia M. Schmidt.  She also will be sadly missed by two sisters, Carolyn Bergeron and Mary Magdalene Jones, one brother, Joseph W. Bergeron, Jr., nine grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  Daughter of the late Joseph W. Bergeron, Sr. and Alma H. Bergeron.
Originally from Luling, LA she has been a resident of Folsom, LA for the past 43 years.  She was a graduate of Hotel Dieu Nursing School. She has been an active parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, devoting many years to its community. Eucharistic Minister and member of St. John’s Ladies’ Prayer Group.  Faithful servant to Our Blessed Mother.
Private Service were held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom. Interment followed in St. Joseph’s Abbey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the St. Joseph Abby, Father Odilo alt burse, 75367 River Rd., Covington, LA 70433.
