Marian Janet Nolan's Obituary
Marian Janet Nolan peacefully entered eternity at her home after a long illness on Tuesday, the 26th day of November, 2013 at the age of 85.
The loving mother of Tonia Nolan, Sharon Nolan Partain and Cheryl Nolan Wagar she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Nolan, Jr., her son Robert James Nolan III, her granddaughter, Ashley Alexandra Nolan, her sisters Louise Gandy, Lillian Hicks, Margaret Pelham and Dale Stone, and brothers Elmer and Bill Gaskey, her mother Minnie Jean Gaskey and father, Will Gaskey. She is survived by her three daughters, sons-in-law Donald Ray Partain, Jr. and Chip Wagar, granddaughter Lisa Swindt, grandson, Weston Stephens, and two great-grandchildren.
Marian was a resident of Covington, Louisiana. She was born on October 1, 1928 in Georgianna, Alabama and moved to New Orleans in 1948, living there until she moved to the Northshore in 1994. She was a real estate agent for Gertrude Gardner, worked for the New Orleans Tourist Commission and was a property manager for Lake Properties and Christopher Homes. Her favorite pastimes were to entertain friends and family at her home and enjoying her grandchildren. She was, above all, the most awesome and loving mother who was always involved in the lives of her children until the very last day of her life. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana at 11:30 AM with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Marian to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
