Margaret Gertrude Wilson Lawrence passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in Covington, LA. She was born on May 31, 1939 in Austin, TX to the late Edgar Orsay Wilson and Sarah Elizabeth Thompson Wilson.
Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Jimmy Milton Lawrence. She was the loving mother of Jimmy Albert Lawrence (the late Glenda Ray), Jaime Lawrence Jenkins (Doss Andrew), and Julie Lynn Lawrence. Margaret was the caring grandmother of Michael Lawrence, Kayla Pierre, Cody Jenkins (Brittany), Amanda Jenkins, and Brennan Jenkins, Kyle Lacoste, Kody Lacoste, and Kane Lacoste (Melissa); she was the great grandmother of 9 great grandchildren.
Margaret was a friend to everyone she met. She was generous with her time and would go out of her way to help those in need. Margaret was organized in all of her endeavors. She was the namesake of Margarite’s Hot Tamales. She will also be especially missed by her constant companion, her dog, Sassy.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Liturgy of the Word at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time.
