Margaret Catherine Hartnett Marley's Obituary
Margaret Catherine Hartnett Marley died in Covington, Louisiana, February 21, 2008.
She is mourned by family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Theodore R. Marley, Jr., her brother James Hartnett and her sister Marie Hartnett Walsh. She is survived by her daughter Beth Marley Lanson, son-in-law John Lanson, son Mark Marley, granddaughters Virginia Lanson Halligan, Marley Lanson, Margaret Ann Marley, Frances Marley, brothers Jack Hartnett and David Hartnett and friend and care giver Nettie Bruner.
Margaret was born in Batavia, New York and grew up in Helena, Montana. She attended St. Mary’s College in Kansas. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service and Bell Telephone in Montana and for the Boeing Company in Seattle. Despite a fifty-five year battle with severe rheumatoid arthritis, she was an artist, scout leader, softball coach, literacy tutor, religion teacher and Arthritis Foundation volunteer. Her faith, kindness, generosity, and courage inspired all who knew her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment in Seattle, Washington at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Agnes School, 3410 Jefferson Hwy., Jefferson, LA 70121 are preferred.
