Dear Miss Margaret: I was your neighbor for only a few years. I moved to Covington from Hawaii almost five years ago. I will never forget my first Christmas Day here. I was walking my dogs Nawiliwili Nelson and Sinbad and heard you yell from your back porch: MELE KALIKIMAKA! Hearing "Merry Christmas" in Hawaiian was such a special memory and welcome to Louisiana. Wili, Sinbad and I loved visiting with you. Your house-- the "Claiborne Cottage"-- is still filled with your warm, positive and feisty energy. We will be donating to the Food Bank and the Humane Society in your memory. Thank you for being such a wonderful neighbor. We miss you. Fr. Bill, Wili, and Sinbad
